Job Description
As a Nursing Aide, you will be responsible for attending to the residents' needs in their activities of daily living and perform basic resident care procedures under the direction of trained nurses according to established protocols and standards.
You will need to:
- Perform basic physiological monitoring for stable residents, including vital signs, oxygen saturation (SpO?), and pain assessments
- Assist with resident health assessments and re-assessments, including admission, transfer, discharge procedures, bladder scans, and neurological checks
- Prepare nutritional supplements and administer oral and nasogastric tube feeding for the residents
- Serve pre-packed medications to residents
- Assist in oxygen therapy and with oral suctioning for stable residents
- Implement and evaluate care plans, including planning and conducting activities for residents with dementia and/or mental health conditions
- Assist residents with activities of daily living to ensure safety and comfort, such as pressure injury prevention, mobility using assistive devices, and elimination needs including stoma and urinary catheter care
- Maintain skin integrity and carry out simple wound dressing procedures
- Conduct and report blood glucose monitoring and point-of-care testing results to designated nurse (RN)
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for both residents and staff, including adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
- Support nurses in medical emergencies or crisis situations
Qualification
You should:
- Have passion in community services
- Be service-oriented
Locally Trained Candidates
- Have a GCE N Levels certificate or completion of training in one of the following:
- WSQ Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care)
- Institute of Technical Education (ITE)–approved Training Centre (ATC) Healthcare (Home Care) programme
Foreign-Trained Candidates
- Hold a nursing degree from your home country; and
- Possesses a valid practising license in your home country
