Job Description

 To serve as the strategic interface with business units for the purpose of business IT strategy development, IT solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.

 Job responsibilities include participating in business strategy planning, analysing business requirement, sourcing/developing/deploying/supporting business applications, working with application vendors to resolve issues, managing application changes and proactively engaging with business users to enhance application for the improvement of business outcomes.

Business Partner Functions

  • Engage business unit/s regularly to understand business challenges
  • Proactively improve business outcomes through enhancement of existing IT applications or introduction of new IT solutions.
  • Track & maintain service level agreed with business users
  • Review & mitigate IT risk exposure of business units
  • Foster good working relations with business users

 

Project Implementation Function

  • Document high-level functional requirements for new system implementation
  • Issue Request-for-Proposal (RFP) to solicit for solutions from selected vendors
  • Conduct evaluation on vendor solutions and make recommendations
  • Formulate project plan and conduct project kick-off
  • Conduct requirement workshop and document functional specifications
  • Work with vendors to develop/configure application to meet functional specifications
  • Facilitate System Integration Testing (SIT) & User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Facilitate system technical and function training
  • Facilitate data extraction, cleansing & migration
  • Facilitate new system Go-Live
  • Facilitate POST-LIVE issues resolution

Application Support Functions

  • Provide day-to-day support for issues and change requests of existing applications
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve application bugs and implement program changes
  • Assume administrator role to support application configuration changes
  • Perform maintenance/housekeeping functions to ensure smooth running of applications
  • Generate privilege account audit logs for periodic review
  • Facilitate user access and segregation of duty review
  • Monitor application backend services and scheduled jobs
  • Ensure success of daily application backup operations
  • Work with vendors to perform application version upgrades or patch management
  • Keep all application related documents up-to-date
  • Support the compliance of IT Policy & Procedures

 

Job Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent with 8-10 years of relevant experience
  • With at least 5 years of experience in working within a team providing application support for key business users
  • Participated in two or more full application implementation project cycles and/or software development life cycles (SDLC)
  • With good knowledge in client/server & web application architecture
  • With good knowledge in data interface and/or system integration
  • With knowledge in cloud-hosted applications and/or SaaS is a plus
  • Capable of performing application administrative and maintenance functions.
  • Prior experience with SAP will be an advantage
  • Prior exposure to Google Apps an advantage
  • Customer focus & service oriented is a must
