Job Description

Ensure the provision of high quality evidence-based nursing care in the clinic. Evaluate assigned patients within the clinic.  Plans, implements and documents nursing care.  Determine the appropriate equipment that will be needed, makes preparations and assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Perform various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.

  • Assess, plan and evaluate nursing care, conduct screening and health education
  • Utilise clinical judgement, critical thinking and problem solving skills in delivery of patient care
  • Promptly screens patient with signs or symptoms of illness. 
  • Works with the clinical team for appropriate treatment, plan of care and disposition.
  • Collaborate with other departments or community partners to achieve better continuity of care
  • Apply principles of infection control. 
  • Assist in patient education on chronic disease and rehabilitation.
  • Ensures patient monitoring and follow up
  • Initiates standard emergency procedures until Provider or EMS is available.
  • Ability to handle emergency situation in calm and efficient manner
  • Ensure manual resuscitator and emergency are functional (including Emergency Drugs kit)
  • Maintains clinical documentation within the medical records assuring compliance within all guidelines.
  • Maintain clinic rooms to a high standard of cleanliness and stocked to the appropriate levels.
  • Perform nursing procedures such as blood sampling, injections, wound dressing
  • Assist in orientation of new staff including supervision
  • Participate in organizational projects and events
  • Performs other duties as assigned (eg. counter duties)

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Valid practicing certificate issued by the SNB
  • Valid BCLs certification
  • 3 years’ experience in similar position
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive work attitude
  • A good team player
